Brace yourselves folks, it’s ‘Soapbox Tuesday’! That’s right, I’ve got some things to get off my chest, and if you’re reading this, then you probably like me enough to listen.
I have always tried to be a considerate person. Whether it’s helping old ladies cross the street, or simply saying “please” and “thank you”, I’ve always tried to keep other people’s feelings in mind.
Now, don't think I'm tooting my own horn, because I don’t always succeed. I just try to keep an eye out for it in my day-to-day life.
I think most people are like this (especially in the South) but there are some who don’t always share my point of view.
Case in point, PEOPLE WHO PARK LIKE THIS!
This “person” has been parked in front of my apartment complex for the past two weeks. It was annoying at first, but everyone was gone for the break and there were still plenty of spaces to be had. However, now that everyone’s back, it’s starting to become a real pain in my posterior.
I've caught a lot of grief from friends over the years about the amount of time it takes me to park. I drive a truck, not a big dually, but it can still be tough to get into tight spots on the very first try. So, to give everyone around me enough room, I’ll back up two or three times to make sure I’m straight. I'll even park in the back of the lot to let others have the good spots. I’m young. I’m healthy. I can use the exercise.
But when I see some jackalope, like the guy above, take up two spots with his Buick, it makes me want to go ‘Office Space’ on his car. Granted, I know I can’t do that (at least not legally), but it’s just one of those things that really puts sand in my crawl.
I know everyone has different priorities in life, and some people just don’t pay attention. But at least ATTEMPT to park your car in between the lines. After all, you never know when I could be in the same parking lot.<insert evil laugh here>.
