Join Louie and Lucci at the Tap to talk all things Aggie sports and recruiting!
815 Harvey Road
College Station, TX 77840
The building that The Tap occupies was built in the early 1900's and was an actual train depot until its movement from Waller, Texas to College Station in the early seventies. It was several businesses until it was remodeled into The Tap in 1990.
The Tap opened December 29th, 1990 to a crowd watching the original Texas A&M Wrecking Crew dislocate both of Heisman winner Ty Detmer's shoulders in the Holiday Bowl against BYU in Hawaii...oh, and the Ags won, by the way.
Initially The Tap just served beer and wine. Booze was added in 1993.
The Tap has served over 70 tons of free peanuts since 1990.
The Tap made it to Playboy magazine in 2002 featuring our very own Mary Beth "Girls of the Big 12"...she later went on to MTV's Road Rules, and she is still rocking it in Austin
The Tap had these "up and coming" bands back in the day for something like $400.00...Smashmouth, Bowling for Soup, Maroon 5.
People you might have heard of who had a cold one with us...Wee man & Rad, George Strait, Kirk Herbstreit, Chris Fowler, Clayton Williams, Henry Thomas (Elliot from E.T.), of course too many Texas Music Gang & Aggie Sports legends to mention (but ya'll count).
The Tap added a full kitchen in 2000 that features over 50 items. Check out the menu. The Tap serves great food from 11:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday you can come out at happy hour get some food and enjoy some great drink specials.
What else about the joint: Well you can have a game of darts, shoot pool, play NTN trivia, dominoes, touch screen, arcade bowling, and big safari hunter. We also have two huge porches to hang out on, occasional live music, and a piano bar every Wednesday with Russel and Mike. We've got 30 something plasma t.v.s for your sporting needs.
